My Creative Critical Reflect

Image
1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? My product uses conventions in many ways. Since it is a Crayola add, the environment of the commercial is going to be child friendly and in a school setting. It represents social issues because it emphasizes how Crayola helps kids express themselves. In today's world, some children feel somewhat emotionally isolated. This commercial shows that Crayola can help them express themselves more.  2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? My product mainly engages with students since Crayola is mainly used by them. A lot of school students need Crayola products for projects and other things. My product would start off with being shared throughout different social media sites like Instagram and Tiktok. I would also distribute them on Tv. This will most likely be on a children channel. 3. How did your production skills develop th

The Final Product- Crayola Commercial!

This project was amazing! It was truly eye opening. I had so much fun working with my team. Despite our ups and downs, we got our commercial completed. This is our first project for AS Media. In such short time, I learned so much. I really did improve on my production skills. This commercial shows how capable I am in Media Studies. I really learned a lot during this project. I cannot wait to do it again!

Final Touch Ups on Editing

Image
Hello it was nice to see you again! So far editing has been great. My group and I did have some minor setbacks though. The scenes that I filmed on Rose's phone came out in poor quality when she sent them to Vanessa. We had to think fast. Reshooting was definitely not an option. Fortunately, I suggested that Rose sends back the scenes. That did the trick! After that minor problem every went great. We organized which scenes goes were. Vanessa is almost done editing. Today we spoke about special effects and the timing of each scene. As I predicted earlier in this project, the commercial is going to line up perfectly to be 30 seconds. I think that my group did an amazing job for our first time! Sadly, this is the end of the journey for this commercial project. By the time my group finishes editing, our commercials will finished! This is the last of the editing for this assignment. I cant wait for more projects like these. This journey was amazing! I learned so much about filming and wh

My First Day of Editing

Finally! My favorite part of this project is here! Editing! I've never been good at editing but when I heard that I'll be editing during this project I was excited because I was ready to learn new things. I just know that I'll learn more about editing during this part of the commercial prep. Today, Luka, Rose and I met up with . I also recapped what happened the last few classes with Vanessa so she is all caught up. Fortunately, Vanessa is really good at editing. She has experience with making short edits. She even showed me some of her edits! So, my group and I collectively agreed to make her the head editor. Later, Rose sent Vanessa all of the scenes that were filmed. Then, I numbered the order in which the scenes go in. This is important because it gives us an insight on how the commercial is going to look. I also shared to Vanessa which part we'll be cutting out. This is very useful because it chops down time. It also makes it seem more orderly and neat. I cant wa

My Last Day of Filming

Today was a great day to film! The area was windy. However, it was quiet and we had everything already organized. So, we were really productive. Luckily, we got all our filming done. Unfortunately our teammate, Vanessa, was not able to make it to both filming days. She had to get surgery in her mouth. Hopefully she is okay. During our film today, Luka, Rose and I cleaned up some shots and recorded the rest of the scenes featured on our storyboard. We also decided to make me the person behind the camera. This means that I filmed the scenes while Luka and Rose did the amazing job of acting. All together, raw videos must have equaled 35 or more seconds. But with a little editing and cutting we are confident that we are at the 30 second mark. Recording this commercial was really fun. Even though planning for the commercial was done, the group still learned a lot. Also, we drew a few more drawings for the background so that our shot would look more colorful. I enjoyed being behind the
